Kathleen and her girlfriend each got to partake in an experience that not too many other get to enjoy. Not only did they attend the 2008 Iditarod but they both got to ride in a dog-sled for the inaugural start of the race. This was made possible by placing a winning bid on a specific musher and his or her team. Kathleen got to ride with Clint Warner's team and Beverly was with the team of Rachel Scdoris.
